Believe in Yourself: Shifting from Self-Doubt to Self-Belief

Hello, everyone!

Today, I want to talk about something we all struggle with at times: negative self-talk. Personally, I’ve battled it my entire life. I’m a perfectionist, an overachiever, and I’ve often placed astronomical pressure on myself—striving to be the best, ensuring everything is perfect, and overachieving in every project, in work, in life, even in my training.

But over time, I realised that this constant pressure was actually holding me back. It was detrimental to some of the projects I cared most about.

I want to share a personal story with you. I started my company after losing my job in April. For years, I told myself I would never be good enough to start my own business. I worried I wouldn’t have the best ideas, the right skills, enough time, or enough money. But then I took a step back and realised something: we have so many tools and resources available today. Technology, supportive friends, and systems that used to take months now make things so much easier.

So, I started my company out of belief in myself. And that belief is what I want to talk about today.

It starts with shifting your mindset from “I can’t” to “I can.” Because the truth is, you can do anything you put your mind to. I’ve been practising this for years now, transforming negative self-talk into positive self-talk.

And the effect on my life has been profound. When a negative thought arises, I now counter it with a positive one. It creates a cycle in your brain that nurtures confidence, resilience, and optimism.

Here’s the key: what you think is not necessarily the truth. That little voice in your head may be loud, but it doesn’t tell the whole story. It doesn’t define your potential, your dreams, or your ability to succeed. The only thing that truly propels us forward is believing in ourselves, overcoming self-doubt, and giving ourselves permission to try.

So, this weekend, I challenge you to think about one thing you’ve been putting off. It could be a skill you want to learn, a new project, a business idea or even a new sport.

Ask yourself:

  • What can I do to make this work?

  • What do I need to make it happen?

  • How can I start today?

And then, do it. Because you can. If I can do it, you can do it too. And I promise, stepping out of your comfort zone is always worth it.

Believe in yourself. Take the leap. You are capable of more than you realise.

Have a fantastic day!

Clementine
