The Power of Colour: Finding the Shades That Truly Elevate You.

Colour is never just colour.

It is energy. It is light. It is emotion. It is the quiet language that speaks before you do.

Woman to woman, think about how different you feel wearing a soft cream knit compared to a sharp electric blue dress. One might make you feel calm and held. The other powerful and visible. Colour shifts not only how others see us, but how we see ourselves.

And when you understand colour, you begin to use it with intention rather than guesswork. Everything Begins with the Primary Colours At its core, colour is beautifully simple. All colours stem from three primary colours: red, blue and yellow. From these three, every other shade is created. When you mix red and blue, you get purple. Blue and yellow create green. Red and yellow become orange.

From there, we add more blue, more yellow, soften with white, deepen with black, and suddenly there are thousands of tones and variations.

What fascinates me is that while the colour wheel may seem complex, the principles are not. Everything comes back to warmth and coolness, brightness and softness. These are the foundations of personal colour analysis.

Warm Undertones and Cool Undertones

Before we talk about seasons, we begin with undertone. Your undertone is the subtle hue beneath your skin. It does not change with tanning or skincare. It is constant.

There are two main undertone families:

Warm undertones: These have a golden, peachy, or yellow base. Skin may appear creamy, honeyed, or olive. Veins often look slightly green. Gold jewellery usually looks harmonious and natural against the skin.

Cool undertones: These have a pink, red, or bluish base. Skin may appear rosy, porcelain, or deep with a blue undertone. Veins often appear blue or purple. Silver jewellery tends to look more seamless and balanced.

A simple way many women start exploring this is by looking at the inside of the wrist. Are your veins more green or more blue. It is not a scientific test, but it offers a clue.

The goal is not to label yourself. It is to understand the temperature that already exists within you.

When you wear colours that match your undertone, your skin looks clearer. Your eyes appear brighter. Your face naturally glows. When the undertone clashes, shadows appear, redness increases, and you may feel slightly washed out without knowing why.

From Undertone to Season

Once we understand whether you are warm or cool, we look at another dimension. Do you suit bright, clear colours. Or do you shine in soft, muted shades This is where seasonal colour analysis comes in.

The seasonal system groups women into four families inspired by nature:

Spring

Summer

Autumn

Winter

Warm undertones fall into Spring or Autumn. Cool undertones fall into Summer or Winter.

Then we refine further:

If you are warm and suit clear, fresh, lively colours, you are likely Spring.

If you are warm and suit earthy, rich, deeper tones, you are likely Autumn.

If you are cool and suit soft, blended, gentle shades, you are likely Summer.

If you are cool and suit bold, high contrast, crisp colours, you are likely Winter.

The purpose is not to overwhelm you with subcategories and endless charts. In fact, my approach is the opposite. I believe the most powerful shift happens when we simply identify your season clearly and confidently. Not to box you in, but to guide you. When you know your season, you stop second guessing.

What Colour Analysis Really Entails

In a colour analysis session, we compare carefully selected fabrics against your face in natural light. We observe what happens to your skin, your eyes, your overall presence.

Does your complexion look lifted or dulled?

Do your features sharpen beautifully or fade slightly?

Do you appear energised or tired?

It is not about trends. It is not about personal preference. It is about harmony.

We compare warm versus cool. Bright versus soft. Light versus deep. Through this process, your season reveals itself. And here is what I find truly fascinating. Most of my clients already own many of their best colours.

They are often hanging quietly in their wardrobes, pieces they instinctively reach for again and again. The dress that always earns compliments. The knit that feels safe and beautiful. The blouse that makes their eyes sparkle.

Colour analysis simply brings clarity to that instinct.

The Ease and Confidence of Knowing

When you know your season, shopping becomes simpler.

You walk into a store and your eyes naturally filter towards your palette. You no longer feel distracted by every trend. You know what works. Choosing jewellery becomes easier. Warm seasons glow in gold. Cool seasons light up in silver. Makeup feels more cohesive because you understand whether coral or berry, peach or rose, will harmonise with your skin. Most importantly, getting dressed becomes effortless.

There is a quiet confidence in knowing that what you are wearing supports you. That it enhances rather than competes. That your face is the focus, not the fabric. Colour done well does not shout. It elevates.

And that is what we are always aiming for. Not perfection. Not rules for the sake of rules. But ease. Clarity. Confidence. Because when you wear the right colours, you do not just look radiant.

You feel aligned.

And that alignment changes everything.

Let's get you started on your Colour Analysis Journey!

Lots of love,

Clementine
