My 5 Favourite Mini Wellness Routines for a Happy, Healthy Life

I’ve always believed that wellbeing doesn’t have to be complicated.

As an athlete, author and teacher, I live by what I preach. My life is built around movement, discipline and growth — but also joy, freedom and deep self-respect. Wellness, to me, isn’t about extremes. It’s about small, consistent rituals that compound over time.

The truth is, the habits that shape your life aren’t the dramatic ones. They’re the mini routines you repeat every single day.

Here are my five favourites: simple, powerful and entirely sustainable.

1. Walking Every Single Day

If I could prescribe one habit for longevity, mental clarity and overall health, it would be walking.

Every single day, without fail.

Walking is one of the most underrated forms of movement. It supports cardiovascular health, regulates blood sugar, improves lymphatic flow and enhances joint mobility. From a longevity perspective, daily low-intensity movement is one of the most sustainable predictors of long-term health. Populations living in so-called “blue zones” consistently prioritise natural daily movement — and walking is central to that.

Beyond the physical, walking clears the mind. It lowers stress hormones, boosts creativity and gives you space to think. Some of my best ideas have arrived mid-walk.

The beauty of it? It’s free. It requires no equipment. No membership. No perfect conditions. Just you and a pair of comfortable shoes.

Wellness does not need to be complicated to be effective.

2. Dressing Exactly How I Want

Style is wellness.

I dress exactly how I want to dress — and I genuinely do not give a care in the world what anyone else thinks.

That freedom is powerful.

When you dress in alignment with who you are, you move differently. You stand taller. You speak more clearly.

You take up space.

Personal style is self-expression, and self-expression is self-respect.

There is something deeply liberating about choosing clothes because they make you feel strong, elegant, playful or grounded, not because they meet someone else’s expectations.

Confidence is built in small, private decisions. Getting dressed is one of them.

3. Eating the Rainbow

Nutrition doesn’t need to be restrictive to be effective.

One of my simplest principles is “eat the rainbow.” The more colour on your plate, the wider the range of micronutrients you’re giving your body. Deep greens for magnesium and folate. Reds for antioxidants. Oranges for beta-carotene. Purples for polyphenols. Each colour represents a different protective compound that supports immunity, cellular repair and long-term health.

Eating this way shifts the focus from limitation to abundance. Instead of asking, “What should I cut out?” you ask, “What can I add in?”

It becomes joyful. Creative. Nourishing.

And over time, those colourful plates build resilience from the inside out.

4. Protecting My Sleep Through Consistency

Sleep is not a luxury. It is a non-negotiable.

Rather than obsessing over perfection, I focus on rhythm. Going to bed and waking up at roughly the same time. Creating a wind-down routine. Reducing stimulation in the evening.

Consistency regulates your circadian rhythm, balances hormones, supports muscle recovery and sharpens cognitive performance. It improves mood, metabolism and even decision-making.

Athletic performance depends on recovery. So does leadership. So does creativity.

The most productive thing you can sometimes do is sleep.

5. Mindfulness & Breathwork

Any time I have a quiet minute to myself, I breathe intentionally.

Breathwork is my reset button.

I practise it often in the sauna, which I visit multiple times a week — and always before sleeping. Heat exposure already promotes relaxation and circulation; pairing it with slow, controlled breathing amplifies the effect.

Long exhales to activate the parasympathetic nervous system. Gentle nasal breathing to calm the mind. Sometimes simple box breathing. Sometimes just awareness.

It lowers stress, reduces mental noise and reconnects me to my body.

In a world that constantly pulls our attention outward, breath brings us back inward. And that pause changes everything.

The Power of Mini Rituals

None of these habits are extreme.

They are simple. Repeatable. Sustainable.

Walking. Dressing with confidence. Eating colour. Sleeping consistently. Breathing deeply.

When practised daily, these mini wellness routines create a foundation of strength — physically, mentally and emotionally.

You do not need to overhaul your life overnight. Start small. Stay consistent. Live what you believe.

If you need extra help getting started on a healthier lifestyle, we would love to help!

Lots of love,

Clementine
